Smart Bro Surf TV

Smart Bro SurfTV is a device that connects to a television set through a quick and easy procedure, to provide Internet access using Smart Bro’s
nationwide coverage. When plugged into the RCA port of a color TV set, Smart Bro SurfTV provides users a ready-to-run Internet experience, and users can surf, chat, and email –- through a multi-tasking TV — at home.

The package includes a Smart Bro Plug-It Internet Modem, a TV box, a USB mouse, a USB keyboard, a wireless remote and VGA cables all for 4,500pesos. You just need a display output like TV or Monitors.

What's in the TV box?
The TV box in this package has the most important use. It serves as the "System Unit/CPU". It is the source of everything shown in the TV output. It has 4 USB ports, a VGA port, RCA and a LAN port. The LAN port may be used using your wired internet access instead of the Smart Bro Plug-it Modem. In front, it has LED lights that indicates Power and Internet Access and an IR Remote Sensor.

How does it work?
This system has a Linux-based OS. The good thing here is that it will boot up fast like those Linux based portable computers. There is no built-in internal storage in this device but you can use a USB flash drive using it's one extra USB port so that you can store your downloaded files from the cloud.

How can I connect to the internet?
You can connect to the internet in two ways, the first is through its Smart Bro Plug-it Modem and the second is through a wired connection using its LAN port. After connecting, you can now surf using its preinstalled Opera Browser.

How can I input information through this?
You can input information through the wireless remote and through USB keyboard and mouse.

Does it have an Office Suite?
The answer to this question is NO. But you can create files through internet using Google Docs.

more infos will be coming soon!

Are we ready for 3D TV's?

Just from the living room watching Convergence on Net-25, a TV program that show cases events where people, technologies and trends converge to make a difference, for short, a Tech Show.Convergence had an episode about 3D TV's having a demo in International CES in Las Vegas and I came here to make some reflections. :D  So much for that, let's go back to the main topic, the 3D TV's.  So? Are we ready for it? Yes or No?

For me, We are really not ready for it. Why? It's because of the hefty price tag, few will be able to afford 3D TV's. However, like the same thing happened to HD LCD TV's a couple of years ago, it was very expensive too, with the same price points of the present LED TV's which are slimmer than LCD TV's. We are also not ready for this because the LED TV's are also showing up right now and it also has a very high price. But I know after a few years maybe 3-5years, LCD and LED TV's will be much cheaper and we'll be ready for the 3D TV's.
